I am torn between excitement and pure nervousness. As a character on “My Little Ponies” says…”I’m so nervicited!” Another instructional coach and I were chosen to do an intensive coaching cycle with one of the trainers from Diane Sweeney’s Student-Centered Coaching. So, essentially, as this other coach and I are coaching our 8th grade math team, the trainer will be in the background doing intensive planning and coaching us. This is a huge honor and will be so beneficial for our teachers and for us. But, I’m nervous! We were one of several volunteer groups and the whole reason behind volunteering was to push me out of my comfort zone. So…here’s a GIGANTIC push! Come February, we will have a fishbowl/learning lab in person on our coaching conversations. This means about 30-35 other coaches, District Office personnel and principals will be watching what we do and listening to what we say. This is a great step in the right direction for me but, again, I’m nervous. I’ll update my progress as we start back after break.
